New Edition is embarking on the Legacy Tour, and it follows the group’s sold-out The Culture Tour, which took place across North America last year! On Friday, 10th March 2023, New Edition is making a stop at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina! The show brings a sensational line-up that includes special guests Keith Sweat and the original members of R&B/hip-hop soul group GUY! New Edition is a Grammy-nominated, chart-topping R&B group that rose to prominence in the ‘80s. The highly-successful group released their debut album, Candy Girl, in 1983 with the title track and singles “Is This The End” and “Popcorn Love.” The following year, the group’s chart performance skyrocketed to the top upon releasing their self-titled sophomore album and major label debut. The effort topped the R&B charts and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200. The album, which spawned the number 1 R&B hits “Cool It Now and “Mr. Telephone Man,” later earned a double-platinum certification in the U.S.
Throughout the group’s four-decade career, they released seven highly-acclaimed full studio albums and a Christmas EP titled Christmas All Over the World. New Edition also received numerous accolades during its prime, including two American Music Awards, a Soul Train Award, and a Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2017, the group was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from BET Awards the following year. Last year, New Edition was inducted into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame.
